Dirgan Diving

For all my effort trying to make intricate worlds and make things scientifically accurate, I've still got very little down for the Dirga.

...So, here's an idea I've been playing with.

I've always wanted them to be at least partially subterranean creatures, but what if they're also amphibious? Not in the 'gills and frills and webbed bits everywhere' kind of way... But in that smooth, almost stunted way that Olms and such are: [link] where, as a cave creature, there is as much conservation of body mass as possible.

If I stick with this design, there's a few things I could do with their biology... Like amphibious-style oxygen diffusing skin to help them stay underwater longer... The hair 'horns' could detect currents and touch like whiskers? Eyes are of less use in the dark underwater, but they could hunt by touch with their sensitive fingers for things under rocks and in crevices... and I think I like the idea that bioluminescence is a common thing in nature on their world too. Dirga don't luminesce because as predators they don't want to be seen by their prey, but their six forward-facing eyes would help in spotting flickers of light in the dark. Plus let's not forget their nice set of bear-trap teeth for making quick work of whatever they can stuff in their mouth~
